Dating back to the 1910’s, Art Deco design had its roots in France before spreading internationally during the 1920’s to 1940’s. Many famous buildings were constructed during this period, such as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center and several Hollywood landmarks. These buildings are a constant reminder to us of the splendor, glamour, and technological progress of the time.
After going out of fashion during the latter half of the 20th century, there has been a resurgence of Art Deco style in contemporary design. Many new fashions and home furnishings pay homage to this classic style while adding a new modern twist for the 21st century.
The Art Deco style has inspired many of the pieces in our OSP Designs & Avenue Six collections. Here are a few of our favorites.
The Isabella Collection is a stunning collection combining contemporary style with art deco elegance. The graceful champagne metal legs combine with bronzed glass for a luxurious yet understated look. Featuring a coordinating foyer table, coffee table, end table and wine cart, your home will transform with the addition of these classic designs. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and conversation with friends around the coffee table while serving cocktails from your chic wine cart beverage station.
Wall mirrors are the perfect addition to a darker room. Not only do they add style and elegance, they also help redirect light around the room to brighten up the space. The Jazz Note Round Wall Mirror and the Gatsby Wall Mirror are two unique mirrors from the OSP Designs® collection that reflect the style of the art deco era.
Bring a touch of glitz and glamour from the art deco era to your home with the Reflections Collection. This opulent collection featuring mirrored accent tables, benches, and stools combines function and style for a luxurious accent in any space.
Host a party worthy of the abundance of the art deco era with your very own bar cart. This versatile piece is popular with those who love home entertaining. The Melrose Serving Cart can be used in a variety of ways depending on your style. Create a stocked up bar space to showcase your cocktail making skills; or store your plates, silverware and linens to be rolled out for your next soirée. Not in party mode? The serving cart also makes a great place to store books and photos. The possibilities are endless!
